A city that never stands still, Newcastle is taking its next chapter of growth, regeneration and investment to Munich this October.
Invest Newcastle will join the UK Cities & Partners (UKCAP) delegation at EXPO REAL 2026, bringing Newcastle’s investment proposition, major regeneration opportunities and growing sector strengths to one of Europe’s leading real estate and investment markets.
From the transformation of the city centre and waterfront to major opportunities across housing, commercial development, health, research and innovation, Newcastle is entering a significant period of change, backed by a substantial development pipeline and a strong platform for future growth.
Newcastle in numbers:
- £11.3bn GVA generated by Newcastle’s economy
- 1.1m people in the regional workforce
- £6.7bn development pipeline
- 60,000 students supporting a significant future talent pipeline
Newcastle’s proposition extends well beyond traditional real estate.
The city has established strengths across data and digital, life sciences, creative industries, energy and space, supported by major institutions, research capability and a highly skilled workforce.
New assets including the North East Space Skills and Technology Centre and Quayside Music Studios are strengthening the infrastructure around these sectors, creating new opportunities for businesses, investment and collaboration.
At the same time, major regeneration projects are reshaping the city. Public and private investment is bringing forward new places to live, work, visit and do business, while strengthening Newcastle’s position as an international destination for talent, innovation and investment.
It is the combination of assets, ambition and collaboration that makes Newcastle’s proposition distinctive, with public and private sector partners working together to bring forward development, attract investment and create the conditions for businesses to grow.
As part of the UKCAP delegation, Invest Newcastle will be showcasing three major opportunities from Newcastle’s investment pipeline in the 2026 UK Investment Prospectus.
